“Between tradition and innovation” – Seminar on the future of water resource management
On November 4, 2024, the seminar titled “Between Tradition and Innovation: Rational Management and Protection of Water Resources” took place at Abbazia di Santo Spirito al Morrone, in Badia di Sulmona (Italian region of Abruzzo). The event was organized by the Consorzio di Bonifica Interno Bacino Aterno e Sagittario and addressed key issues related to the sustainable management of water resources, with a particular focus on drought and climate change, in the context of the growing need to respond to global environmental challenges.
The seminar marked a crucial step in an informational and educational journey aimed at raising awareness about the importance of more effective and efficient water use within the relevant territorial areas. The main objective was to identify strategies for addressing climate change through the conscious and balanced use of water resources.
Among the participants, Paolo Sebastiani, General Manager of AC.MO S.r.l., presented the company’s experience with 3rd and 4th level water meters. Sebastiani explained how the company is adopting an innovative approach focused on the use of digital technologies and monitoring systems. This includes not only flow meters designed to monitor and control the distribution of water resources but also cutting-edge Hydropass units equipped with ultrasonic measurement technology and data transmission via LoRaWAN technology, ensuring precise and real-time control of water distribution.
This technological solution enables continuous monitoring of water networks, contributing not only to reducing losses and energy consumption but also to the more rational and sustainable management of water resources in a context of increasing water scarcity.
