Installation hydroélectrique en Sicile (Italie)

The plant is built on an existing structure of the Fanaco potabilizer managed by Sicilia Acque. The purpose of the project is to recover the energy of water that was otherwise dissipated in tanks before directing it to the water purifier..

The plant, is inserted on the supply pipe of an existing water purifier, therefore it has been necessary to realize an interception by-pass to allow the water to be diverted to the new hydroelectric plant. The water, after being swirled, is then reintroduced into the pipeline that leads it to the treatment tank for potabilization and then distribute it to the users. The valves installed, in addition to the classic functions at the service of the turbine, have the task of regulating the flow of water to the water purifier as well as ensuring, in total safety, the possible blocking of the turbine bypassing it completely.

The plant realized in this way allowed to generate energy with a power of about 180KW.
